Baguio (Bag-ee-o), also known as the City of Pines, City of Flowers, and the City of Lovers, is the summer capital of the Philippines. This is due to the fact that it is set at an altitude of 1,500 meters above sea level with a cool and crisp climate. Its average temperature is 24.5°C and even its weather is on average cooler by 8°C than the lowlands. Its warmest temperature is recorded at 26°C and this seldom happens.

Because of this, it is no wonder that Baguio is considered as the most popular place for Filipinos to travel to. Many people move to this city during the hot summer months in order to get away from the heat, hustle and bustle of Manila and get back to nature as well. Easter is the peak season for the city.
